Is it possible to use Java-React Native binding in mobile app?

I'm constructing a managing mobile app. All it's logic is simple and made for having everything on board, including logic layers, databases and etc. Design was made for reaching portability (elimintaing need in 24/7 internet connection) and exluding need in server backend. However all information about React Native, that i have found, is about using it as fully web dependent renderer.
So my question is: Is it possible to realize all layers of architecture in java and connect it to UI layer made in react native, and, then, to build it in one apk file, considering, that it will functionate as expected? And will it work on Ios in this case? (i mean in case of having all logic in java for both android and ios, but different os interaction model in react native)
I'm open for any suggestions for changing architecture or realization model, if necessary.
P.S. I'm new to mobile development...

I don't think it's a good idea to put all the heavy work on the mobile.
